Weather Policy:
The weather in Stacy or Prior Lake can be very different from other parts of the city. Just because it is raining at your house doesn’t mean it is raining at my house!
I cancel classes ONLY if there is an immediate threat of tornadoes in my county (Chisago) or Chris’s Prior Lake county. I will have class in the rain. I make it a policy to avoid canceling classes as much as possible.
The policy will be to call my cell phone: 612-220-0663. If class is cancelled the voice mail message will indicate that. If there is class you will hear a normal voice mail message.
If you know in advance that you are not coming to class I appreciate your calling or emailing me to let me know so I can plan accordingly. I had a few classes last summer with none or one student in them.
Foundation Testing:
A foundations test for admission into beginning agility classes will be offered Thursday evening
in March or April 2007. Please email me privately at agilk9s@frontiernet.net if you are interested in taking the test at that time.
Foundation Class Offering:
We will be offering another foundations class starting in April or May 2007. It is 8 weeks long.
The class is open to puppies and dogs of all ages and is taught by Carol Smorch, Elizabeth Penning and/or Annelise Allan.
This class helps students prepare for beginning agility training. Operant conditioning (and clicker training) techniques are used to teach students how to train their dogs to walk on a loose leash, come when called, stay and send to a target. Students learn how to use operant and classical conditioning techniques to train their dogs with food and toys to build in a love for learning and enthusiasm for training. Dogs will also be exposed to walking on wobble boards, walking over poles on the ground and will also learn a trick or two.
Email me at agilk9s@frontiernet.net to sign-up for the class.
